1. Why I should purchase Travel Insurance?

It is essential to be insured when travelling.  Medical and liability costs can run to the tens of thousands.  Meanwhile cancelling your holiday could mean losing some or all of the money you have paid for tickets and reservations.

2. Why is travel insurance a good idea when traveling to Vietnam?

- Travel insurance is a good idea whenever you travel internationally because typical healthcare policies DO NOT provide coverage outside your country.
 -  Visitsure is great idea for visits to Vietnam because it provide 24 access to emergency assistance and, should in case you need it, access to the top medical services available in Vietnam.  (Please see the healthcare providers section of this site.)

4. Who is the Insurer of Visitsure?

Visitsure Travel Insurance is underwritten by Viendong Joint Stock Assurance Company (VASS).  VASS is the first private company in Vietnam, operating in the Non- life Insurance Market.
VASS has established reinsurance relationships with some of the most reputable insurance and reinsurance companies in the world including: Vinare, Munich Re, Swiss Re., and Cologne Re.

5. How do I use this website?

- Go to the Get Quote page, select your travel dates, the number of travelers and the coverage level you wish to obtain. The quoted price defaults to Plan A (Sum Insured: US$ 100,000), but you can easily compare the price and then select Plan B (Sum Insured: US$ 70,000) or Plan C (Sum Insured: US$ 50,000) for more options.
- Once you decide to purchase the application and payment process is easy and should only take a few minutes.
- You can pay for your travel insurance online with a Visa, Mastercard, or Paypal Account. Your policy details will be displayed in a printable format and automatically sent to your email address.

6. How much will my travel insurance cost?

You can obtain a VISITSURE travel insurance policy for as little as US$ 12.00 for a 5-day trip. The more you stay, the cheaper the premium rate per day is. The cost of your policy will depend on the Plan you choose, the duration of your trip and the number of people travelling.

7. How can I pay?

You can pay online using a Visa, Mastercard, or Paypal Account.

8. How is my policy delivered?

Your policy is delivered via the email address registered in your Application Form

9. Who is eligible to take out a policy?

Visitors and Vietnamese residents from a minimum age of 6 weeks, up to a maximum age of 85 years are eligible.  All children under the age of 7 years must be accompanied by an adult who is also insured under the same Policy.  This includes:

  1. Visitors to Vietnam for sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives, attending an international conference, seminar, congress, participating in sport and game competitions, artistic performances, going on a mission.
  2. Residents of Vietnam such as experts, workers, students, and those who are working in the diplomatic delegations and in the international organizations and when they are traveling within the territory of Vietnam.

10. Are children covered?

Up to 2 children/grandchildren aged under 18 years old at the commencement date of the policy can be covered free of charge when insured with adult family members on the same policy.

11. How long can I travel for?

The maximum Period of Insurance for one trip shall be 180 consecutive calendar days.

12. Can I get travel insurance if I have an existing medical condition?

Yes, you can get a VISITSURE travel insurance to cover for your trip. However, this insurance will cover for only losses or disabilities not arising from your existing medical condition or chronic deceases (please read Article 12, Chapter III: Exclusions in Policy Wording for more details).

13. How do I know what I'm covered for?

14. Am I covered for business travel?

Yes, VISITSURE has been designed to cover for both leisure and business travelers. However, this is restricted to business activity that follows your normal occupation provided this does not involve manual work or exposure to hazardous risks (such as sailing, working in drilling platform, mining, diving etc.)

15. Am I covered for hazardous activities?

If you are going to take part in any hazardous activity, you may not be covered by this policy. Please read Article 12, Chapter III: Exclusions in Policy Wording for more details).

16. Does Visitsure have a 24-hour Emergency Medical Assistance Service?

Yes, the Visitsure travel insurance policy has a 24-hour medical emergency and repatriation service provided by International SOS (www.internationalsos.com).

In the event of a medical emergency, contact the Emergency Medical Assistance Service which provides access to multi-lingual co-coordinators and medical specialists 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Full details of the service they provide and how to contact them can be found in the Policy Wording.

17. How do I make a claim?

Full details of what you need to do to make a claim are shown in your Policy wording.
Please note: you will be expected to follow the 'Claims Procedure' shown in your Policy wording and to substantiate your claim by providing supporting documentation.

18. Do I have to pay my medical bills myself?

If you are asked to pay a small bill for medicines and/or outpatient treatment it is often easier to settle your bill direct, keep all receipts and contact Visitsure Customer Services (Contact us) for a claim reimbursement right after.

If your treatment is expensive (i.e. outpatient treatment and additional related expenses over US$ 500) or you are admitted as an in-patient, Visitsure Customer Services and/or the Emergency Medical Assistance Service must be contacted as soon as possible otherwise payment of medical bills cannot be guaranteed. The Insurer (directly or through Emergency Medical Assistance Service) can also arrange for those medical expenses covered by the policy to be paid direct to the hospital/clinic.

19. I made a mistake in entering my data, what should I do?

You can send an email to customerservice@visitsure.com to make changes to your policy.

20. What if I need to extend my insurance cover period?

This can only be arranged if the insurance cover period has not yet expired. Please contact us at customerservice@visitsure.com for details on how to extend your policy and the premiums charged.

21. Does Visitsure provide coverage in the event of the need to cancel a trip due to the some unexpected situations?

Yes, Visitsure will indemnify up to the limit set out in the Insurance Certificate and only when the curtailment or cancellation of trip is the consequence of:

    1. Death, Serious Injury or Illness befalling the Insured Person.
    2. Death, Serious Injury or Illness, afflicting an Insured Person's Immediate Family Members, or a travel companion who is also insured under the same policy of the Insured Person.
    3. Witness summons, jury service or compulsory quarantine of the Insured Person.
